Andes of s. Colombia (Antioquia, Cauca, Narino, Piquale, Ricaurte) to c. Ecuador (e. slope of the Andes to the right bank of the Rio Paute, on the w. slope s. to w. Cotopaxi, and in interior valleys at se. Carchi). An isolated populations occurs at Pan de Azucar in Napo Province, Ecuador.
