South Australia, interior Queensland (Mitchell River), interior New South Wales (Round Hill Nature Reserve) and Victoria (Chiltern State Forests, Big Desert Wilderness Park, Wyperfield National Park and Hattah-Kulkyne National Park). Breeds irregularly on King Is. in Bass Strait and n. Tasmania.
Disperses to sc. Western Australia, n. Northern Territory, South Australia and coastal e. Australia.
