Range(1) N. and e. Europe from Ireland and n. Scotland and from n. Denmark and Scandinavia e. across n. Russia to w. Siberia in the Yenisei River Valley s. and e. of the range of the Carrion Crow to Ukraine, s. Italy, Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia.
(2) Mainland Italy to the former Yugoslavia, Asia Minor, n. Iran, Turkestan and Kazakstan.
Winters s. to nw. India.
(3) Coastal Turkey to Levant, Nile Valley of Egypt, n. Iraq, s. Russia to the Aral Sea and Transcaspia.
(4) S. Iraq and adjacent sw. Iran.
