Queensland, New South Wales (Murray-Darling River Basin, Macquarie Marshes, confluence of the Murrumbidgee and Lachlan Rivers, Paroo River, Cuttaburra Channels), Victoria, e. South Australia (Lachlan-Murray River to the Flewrien River, Dune Lake) w. to the Eyre Peninsula and Tasmania.
(2) New Zealand.
Formerly occurred on Chatham Is.
