Temperate s. South America;
Two populations;
Se. Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Paraguay and Uruguay to s. Argentina (Buenos Aries, Rio Negro and Tierra del Fuego). C. Chile (coastal Atacama to Valdivia and Magallanes).
Winters as far n. as coastal s. Peru, s. Bolivia, c. and s. Brazil.
