(1) Se. former USSR (se. Siberia at Lake Baikal, Transbaicalia in the Soviet Far East in s. Amurland in the Amur River Valley, s. Ussuriland, s. Sakhalin and Kuril Is.), Mongolia, n. China (Manchuria), Korea and Japan (Hokkaido bird winter to the s.) to s. China (Heilungkiang (Manchuria) s. to Kwangtung w. to Ningsia, se. Kansu, e. Szechwan, n. Yunnan and Taiwan.
Winters w. into Mongolia to Lake Baikal, in middle and lower Yangtze Valley, Hong Kong and from s. Kiangsu to Kwangtung and Tibet (Tsangpo Valley) e. to Taiwan s. to Thailand and Cambodia and the n. Philippines.
(2) Ne. India (e. Assam), Burma e. to Laos, Vietnam (Tonkin and Annam in the Mekong Delta) and s. China (sw. Yunnan).
(3) Indian subcontinent from Pakistan (Lower Indus River), Nepal (Lake Tandha), n. India (Kashmir to w. Assam s. to Mysore and Karnataka) and occasionally Sri Lanka.
Winters in Indochina and the Australasian region.
