Two populations;
(1) Se. Siberia from Yakutia and the upper Aldan River and upper Lena River s. to Lake Baikal, Transbaikalia, Amurland, Ussuriland, and Sakhalin Is. then s. in n. Mongolia, ne. China from c. Inner Mongolia and s. Heilungkiang (Manchuria) s. to Hopeh and North Korea(?), n. Japan (Hokkaido and n. Honshu).
Winters s. in s. Japan (c. and s. Honshu and Kyushu), se. Asia from Burma to s. China, Indonesia in s. Malay Peninsula, Indochina, the Philippines and n. Borneo.
(2) C. and e. New Guinea.
