Taymyr Peninsula, Severnaya Zemlya, New Siberian Is., Bennet Is. and Wrangel Is. s to w. and n. Europe from the British Isles s. to Portugal and nw. Russia on the Kola Peninsula.
Winters s. to the Sargasso Sea, off the e. United States, Azores and w. Africa.
(2) N. Pacific Ocean from ne. Siberia, Kamchatka, Sea of Okhotsk, Shantar Is. and is. off Sakhalin Is., Kuril Is. and Commander Is., is. in the Bering Sea to w. and s. Alaska from Cape Lisburne s. to Aleutians and e. to Glacier Bay and Dixon Bay.
