(1) E. United States from Maine to Florida and Florida Keys and the coast of the Gulf of Mexico to s. Texas (lower Rio Grande Valley), Bermuda, West Indies s. to Antiqua and s. in Mexico (Chiapas, Yucatan Peninsula, Isla Cancun) and islands off Belize, Honduras and n. Venezuela from Netherlands Antilles e. to Margarita Is. Possibly Trinidad.
Winters s. to ne. Brazil.
(2) C. United States on inland rivers in the n. Great Plains from e. Montana, sc. North Dakota, w. Iowa, sw. Missouri, nw. Indiana, c. Kentucky, nw. Ohio s. to c. New Mexico, se. Colorado, w. Kansas, c. Oklahoma, ne. Texas, nc. Louisiana and w. Tennessee.
Winters s. to n. Brazil (Bahia).
(3) W. coast of United State, c. California s. from San Francisco Bay to Baja and w. Mexico (Sonora, Sinaloa).
Winters mostly in Central America.
