Migrant in Jordan (Azraq Oasis Wildlife Reserve).
Winters in Africa in Kenya and n. Tanzania s. to South Africa, Persian Gulf, India, Sri Lanka, e. China, se. Asia, Taiwan and the Australia where it occurs during the Austral summer months in w. and n. Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland (Townsville Common Environmental Park, Cairns and Michaelmas Cay), New South Wales, Victoria (Werribee), c. South Australia.
