Mexico through Central America s. in the Andes to Argentina;
Highly fragmented distribution;
(1) N. and c. Mexico from se. Sonora, sw. Chihuahua, Sinaloa (Copala), Nayarit, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, s. Nuevo Leon and c. Tamaulipas (Jaumave) s. to Mexico, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
(2) N. Colombia (Santa Marta Mountains, Ecoparque Los Besotes 9km from Valledupar), n. Venezuela, ne. Ecuador and n. Peru (Cordillera de Colan, Amazonas).
(3) E. and se. Bolivia to nw. Argentina.
