W. Africa. C. tropical Africa;
Two populations;
(1) Senegambia, s. Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea e. through s. Niger, s. Chad to ne. Zaire, e. Ethiopia and Eritrea.
(2) S. Sudan and w. Ethiopia.
(3) S. Somalia s. to c. Zaire, ne. Zambia, Angola, ne. Namibia, n. Botswana, Zimbabwe and e. South Africa (Natal).
(4) Madagascar, Comoro Is. and Mascarene Is. Migrates to c. Africa.
